I have a question for you. Are you (like most people) struggling to stay in control of your growing to-do list?!
Welcome to the entrepreneur club! You already know how important it is to stay in a space of passion, motivation and creativity. But that gets really hard to do when you’re trying to manage a thousand daily requests and tasks.
It never stops, does it? (I’m looking at you, email!!)
I want you to regain control so that you can focus on successfully growing your business. So, I’m sharing a great tip that will help you to stay productive while reducing stress, anxiety and overwhelm (yay!). It’s simple, but don’t let that fool you. I use this system myself, and it works flawlessly!
Complete the quick tasks first.
Think of your to-do list as a numbers game. The goal is to have as few items as possible on your list at any given time. Get rid of the quick and easy-to-do tasks first. This will build momentum (and your confidence!) and make you feel productive.
What falls into this category? Any task that you can knock out in about 5-10 minutes. Do those immediately. Then, work your way up to the more time consuming tasks. This will keep your list as short as possible and prevent that overwhelm from setting in. And because you’ll be less stressed, you’ll be better equipped to really focus when completing the more difficult projects.
What do you think? Sounds too easy? Something this simple couldn’t possibly work? I challenge you to give this a go. COMMIT to this system for the next 1-2 weeks and see what happens. You just might wind up with a new and highly effective way to stay in control and end the daily struggle.
