Prior to the website redesign, Joan seemed physically and practically distant from her audience.
In the main image at her old website, Joan was shown at a physical remove from her online audience. For NGNG, this was counterproductive. After all, her work is extremely personal, as she delves deeply into one’s motivation for harmful behaviors. Amber believed the site lacked a sense of intimacy, a sense that Joan is approachable as well as helpful.
Through increased transparency and authenticity, Joan is able to put herself forward more clearly and powerfully. This enables her to speak more clearly to the needs of her audience, and to better explain her neuroscience-based solutions.
