I took time to reflect back on all of the trials and successes over the last 15 years since NGNG was born. I thought through our team members, clients, hard moments, and key decisions. And today, I’m excited to share some ofthese stories in hopes it may help you through your journey as an entrepreneur.
A lot of times when I’m being interviewed on a podcast, one of the first questions I get asked is, “So Amber, tell me about your story.How did you end up here?”
And each time, without fail, I look at them and I laugh, because it’s a story that people wouldn’t necessarily guess. When you watch somebody’s video, you often make certain assumptions about who they are and how easy they have it, right? When people look at me, they usually think, “Wow she was just born to be a speaker. She’s so upbeat, she is so positive.”
What if I told you that’s not how I got my start?

The first 18 years of my life, I was actually very shy and extremely insecure.
I was not a social person, and never really had friends. But because of this, I was able to hone in on what I call my super power: I was the quiet observer.
It wasn’t until I was jumped by a group of girls in highschool that I had an extreme wakeup call. I finally faced myself and asked, “Is this who I’d be proud to be?”
I remember that feeling when I finally faced myself. Like, really faced myself.
Facing your truth in that way is an act of complete bravery for anyone who finds themselves in this place. I knew if I continued down the same path I had been on…it would not have a good ending.
So, I chose a different path at 16 years old.
Day by day, I made different choices. I graduated from high school with Honors and I did the hard work of repairing relationships. Then, I got a job selling Cutco cutlery and kitchenware (even though I had never sold anything a day in my life, lol!). I did what my managers instructed, accepted every challenge, and I finished number one in my class out of 100 students.
Everything that unfolded in my life since has come from my ability to say “Yes, I can learn how to do that”.
About three months into my career I started skyrocketing, all while I was attending my classes the University of Arizona studying graphic design and marketing. I continued to excel in Cutco, and once I graduated I started dabbling in websites. I ended up teaching myself code and built my own website from scratch. As I was digging into these skills, I started blogging about the things that I was learning about. All of a sudden, people started reaching out to me and asking if I could build and manage their websites.
Me? Sure.
And just like that: NGNG Enterprises Inc. was born.
I chose NGNG because my mom growing up used to say to us all the time, “No guts, no glory!”. What better phrase to remember as I embark on this next stage of my life?
Now, 15 years later, we now have an organization that’s multi million dollar, Inc 5000 company.
My goal in this journey has been to always remain humble to remember where I came from to help pass it forward, pass that torch on, to my clients, to my team, to just people I meet along the path. That has translated into my work…my branding, website building and helping people like you realize that it’s all about the cause, connection, and community.
This is my life’s work, and if there is absolutely anything that I can possibly do to help breathe life and support and hope and empowerment and security into you and help you on your path….I’m here.
Whatever your message is, and however you want to help people, I want to lean in and share my brilliant team with yours!
