You may have heard me say this before, but this is a message is worth repeating (over and over and over again)…
The grass is not greener on the other side.
Have you ever looked at someone you admire and think about how easy they must have it or how much you wish you could experience what they experience?
“The Grass IS Greener on the Other Side” concept has been around for a long time. Too long. This phrase just expresses our lack of personal fulfillment and distraction in always looking at what others have… thinking it must be easier or better “for them.” But that couldn’t be more false.
The grass is still not greener on the other side.
A couple examples? I’ve met many “established business owners” who “appear” to have a good income, when the reality is they are just barely getting by. I remember being in “the popular crowd” at school for a short while, and guess what? The very people I originally thought were so cool turned out to be largely miserable and mean individuals. Definitely not what I’d assumed.
If you ever find yourself looking at someone else and wishing you had what they had, I want you to know this: that feeling is simply an opening, an awareness of what you want to have in your life in order to be fulfilled.
Make a conscious choice to let that awareness motivate you to go after what you want.
The answer doesn’t lie in what others have. The key is to find your own self-fulfillment and joy. It’s to go after your dreams without letting comparison and assumption hold you back.
So tell me, does this resonate with you? Comment below and let me know what’s on your mind. I really wanna know! 🙂
