In this Special Edition Fast Track Series, I’m going to share with you our journey of growth, pain and shifting! I’ve shared my story with you from the very beginning, where I was this shy, awkward observer who didn’t have very many friends who ended up waking up to her entrepreneurial spirit and eventually starting what is now an Inc 5000 company. I took you through some of my favorite and toughest moments in my 15 years of running NGNG Enterprises.
And today, I’m sharing the here and now, and a bit of what’s to come.
This year was exceptional. We started the year with more cash reserves in the bank than we’ve ever had, and more guaranteed contracts and payments than we’ve ever had before. The NGNG team set off on this goal to hit the Inc 5000 list- which we did! Earning that title is so special to me, and not because of who will look at me, but for the impact that we’ve had in our industry, the jobs that we have created and the leadership that I was able to bring forth to the world.
My son ended up getting accepted into a fantastic school up north to start kindergarten and we lucked out because I mean, the waiting list was a mile and a half long! Once I got notice he was accepted, it was time to put my house on the market and start planning to move up north! The move itself was a bit more stressful than I had anticipated (check out the video below for more details!) but we’re finally settled in a rental near Fort Collins, CO.
…AND I ended up buying a cabin in the woods! I just have to say… it has given me so much peace, reflection and healing from all of the change that I have experienced in the past couple of years. I haven’t been very vocal about this, but there were a lot of really big monumental changes that happened in my life in the past two years, both personally and professionally.
And one of the things that I’m really excited about is what’s ahead for NGNG!
I want to debrief. I want to look back at what have I learned. There was so much growth, pain and shifting. All of that learning happened so fast that I don’t even fully know everything that I learned… but I know that there is a never ending well of wisdom that I have inside of me. I want to document all of it!
With the busyness of the move I was going through on top of the accelerated growth of NGNG, I was feeling overworked and overwhelmed. I decided it was time to get back to NGNG’s roots, so I made the difficult decision to downscale the company. I made sure to be extremely careful in doing this because I deeply care about all of our team members and our clients.
NGNG went from a team of 38 down to a team of about 18, and we’re really focused on working with a set number of clients that we love and can foster meaningful relationships with. We want to give the clients we work with the best we’ve got, and that is exactly what we’re doing!
And so NGNG lives on!
We are still selling experiential, high-end custom websites. We’re doing branding, selling Leverage To Scale (our online marketing training program) and we’re launching incredible, bestselling books. I cannot be more proud of our authors, our team, and everything that we’ve built.
Thank you so much for traveling down memory lane with me! I hope you gained something valuable from this series. I want to be sure you know that I am always open for anybody to come into the NGNG circle and get to know my team. They’re incredible humans!
