Build Your Business Slowly to Reduce Overwhelm

Don’t you hate feeling like you have to do everything at once?!? It’s such an overwhelming feeling to constantly have that pressure weighing you down, especially when you’re running an online business in addition to everything else that’s on your plate. Well, you’re gonna love this… I’m giving you permission to NOT have to do it all! (I know, pretty exciting, right?) And you know what? Slowly building your business from the ground up is actually better for your business … and your sanity.

As an entrepreneur, you have so much to do. You also have dozens of different experts telling you that you need to be doing a million different things in order to be successful: blogging, webinars, social media, affiliate programs, summits… there is no end. And while this can be super exciting, it’s also stressful and pulls your focus away from what gives you the most joy.

I challenge you to slow down for a moment and think about what you really want to do. What makes you happiest? How can you plan your work around that?

For example, let’s say you love creating videos for your audience, but you hate writing. Forget the written blog posts for now and make video blogs instead.

If the thought of recording videos sends chills down your spine (and not the good kind), but you love audio, then a podcast is perfect for you! Do that instead. See? It’s easier than you think!

I strongly encourage you to put some real thought into this and set your focus on what you truly love and enjoy.

Take it slow and build up over time. You need a rock-solid foundation in place anyway, so you don’t want to scale too quickly and wind up with cracks in the foundation.

We often think we can do way more than we actually can, so start with less than you think you could take on. Then, as you grow your following and become more efficient and build your confidence, up the workload and go from there. Ramp up only when you’re ready.

I’m here to tell you that there is no right or wrong to building a business online. You don’t have to do it all or all at the same time. Build it your way on your terms. You’ll achieve success and be so much happier without that added weight on your shoulders! Give it a try this week, and then comment below to let me know how it goes and what changes you’re going to make.

To your success!

xoxo,
Amber Vilhauer
