This morning, I invite you to reflect on a SUPER important question that’s been on my mind lately:
Are you consciously aware of how much influence you have at any given moment…and are you using that influence for good?
I observe that most people severely underestimate the influence they have.
The thing is, we have a lot more influence than we realize. And whether we’re leading our teams, posting a comment online, or just waiting to check out at the grocery store, we have a responsibility to use our influence for good.
I take that responsibility very seriously. So behind the decisions I make or interactions I have, I ask myself…
Am I being my highest and best self?
Am I being the leader I would want a 12 year-old-girl to see?
Am I showing up as the type of person I’m working so hard to teach my son to show up as?
Believe me, I know what it’s like to want to hide (being aware of just how much power and influence you have can be really intimidating!). But in those moments, I remind myself that a human’s most basic need is to feel seen, heard, loved, and valued…and that happens when we meaningfully connect with those around us.
So whenever there’s an opportunity for me to use my influence for good, I don’t cower or back away. I embrace my core value of “Lean In” and I choose not to hide.
I don’t believe in perfection. But I do believe in excellence.
I choose to become that powerful influencer who uses her voice to share that it’s okay to have a difference of opinion, but we can connect on our values. And by fostering that connection, we can start to shift the conversation into something that’s more conscious and productive so we can positively impact humanity (we really are #BetterTogether!).
At NGNG, our mission is to elevate every experience. At every turn, there are incredible opportunities for us to take action to inspire the people around us, help them believe in themselves, and to change lives…
So, let this message serve as a reminder that you have the power to use your influence in that same way. 🙂
