Two words that have been echoing in my mind lately are EMBRACE and SURRENDER…
Specifically, I’ve been ruminating on embracing and surrendering to change.
Something I’ve observed (and shared with you just a few weeks ago) is that most people try to resist change or cling to what they know when they sense change coming because the uncertainty that comes with that change can feel downright scary.
But what most people forget is that change often leads us to exactly where we need to be…so in those scary moments, I encourage myself to embrace change – and all the joy and growth and play that comes with it.
Surrendering to Redefine Life’s Path
As I’ve been ruminating on this idea of embracing change, I came across an interview where a famous celebrity shared that the game-changing moment for him was when he surrendered and let go of the idea of what he thought his life and career “should” look like or what he was “supposed” to be doing.
Woowww did that speak to me!
When we’re young, we have a vision for how our lives will go…but life has a way of taking us down new paths we never dreamed up for ourselves.
Personally, I know a LOT of things that have happened as I’ve gone through life weren’t part of the plans I had for myself when I was young (can you relate??).
Even though those things weren’t what I pictured for myself as a kid, I feel extremely lucky to live the life I do…
To have had things come together in the way they have…
To have built an impactful business that allows me to connect with amazing, kind, and giving people…
To spend days soaking up nature with my son and taking all the beauty around us in…
If I hadn’t surrendered to all the changes that felt scary along the way and embraced them for exactly the way they were unfolding in front of me, would I get to live this life I love so much?
I don’t know the answer. But what I do know is that embracing and surrendering to change has led me here.
…And for that, I just feel so thankful and #DeeplyFulfilled. 🙂
