Avoid the “What’s Next?” Trap & Make Publishing Fun

I was interviewed last week for a TRULY valuable Summit, and I found myself re-inspired by a few things. I want to share that with you now.

Do you ever find yourself in the trap of quickly seeking the “what’s next?” in terms of how to market, how to get clients, and how to sell?

I see it all the time and even find myself stuck in that trap sometimes.

But when Kathryn Kemp Guylay interviewed me for her “Make Publishing Fun!” summit, our time together really reminded me that the basics WORK.

Ok, here’s what I mean…

1. I shared that your website is the hub and heart of EVERYTHING else you do. It’s true!

Are you PROUD of your website? If you aren’t, my goodness, why not?!

When you market on social media, get interviewed on podcasts, speak on stage, launch a book… you want to send everyone back to your website…one that WOWs the world enough that you build an email list and make sales!

If you’re not happy with the way your site represents you OR you’re not getting results, then can we pretty please talk and get this fixed? This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a heavy reminder to focus on what will move the needle in your business.

2. I shared that you should focus on QUALITY, not QUANTITY. It’s true!

Kathryn and I went deep on this topic as it relates to list-building, sales, and conversion. You’ll really just need to listen to my full interview to get the details (I can’t possibly convey 40 min of deep-dive content in a blog post, lol!).

When entrepreneurs focus too intently on “what’s next,” they wind up disregarding the WEALTH of business that they already have. If you have 100 people on your email list, you can do a LOT to generate income and a loyal following. (Ask me how.)

Those are just two important points of the 7 I covered during my time with Kathryn.

I’ve participated in dozens and dozens and dozens of times. I will be honest and say that Kathryn stood out as one of the best interviewers I’ve ever encountered.

She was brilliant at extracting the best value in the time we had. Her Summit focuses on how to Prepare, Plan, Produce, Publish and Promote your book (but even non-authors would get a ton out of this training).

You’ll just need to trust me on this one. Check it out here.

I’ve already signed up too!

I have SO much quality training planned for you in the coming months. Thanks for staying on this journey with me.

xoxo,
Amber Vilhauer
