“I want to start an Internet business but know nothing about it and don’t have a lot of money to start it. Can you point me in the right direction to accomplish this? What are the most lucrative type Internet businesses?”
Dear Entrepreneur – You have quite the journey ahead, but it’s absolutely possible. I can tell you that getting your business online or even starting a blog would be a smart move…it’s just where things are headed.
Starting a blog is honestly your best bet on a low budget. You can start your own WordPress blog (wordpress.com) for free – it will just take time. You can create your own look and feel by choosing a theme.
A blog is sort of an online diary of sorts. You can take my blog as an example. I started this blog to express my knowledge on Internet Marketing and starting an online business, plus a few other goodies like sharing my network and explaining step-by-step how things work on many subjects. That is an example of a blog you could start (maybe on a different topic).
It all starts with the first step. So I would get a blog to share your passion, ideas and knowledge. Then you can start to naturally build your business. For example, you could create an eBook for almost nothing at Blog2Print – make it a collection of your best blog posts. You could start a list of subscribers. Get an affordable, but top notch, email management system – like MailChimp.
You could then start recording audio for free from your computer. Then sell your audio clips (on how to do something related to your subject of expertise). Then you could get webinar software and start running monthly online training sessions. I could go on and on. But, you want to take these things one step at a time.

It’s good to sit down and start making a plan. I like to make mind-maps. Start with a goal in the center of the page and circle that goal. From there, branch out and write out ways of achieving that goal based on the knowledge you are picking up (such as blog, article syndication, creating an eBook, audio training clips, webinar series, etc.). Then ask about those specific things. Let each new venture pay for itself. It may seem like it’s taking forever once you first get started, but I promise, there will be this pivotal moment where you will see a shift. More people will show up to your blog, more people will sign up to be on your list, and so on.
If you have any specific questions you want to ask me, feel free to contact me – or just use that as a tool to learn a few things.
I wish you well!
