The Responsibility of Leadership

I’m thinking a lot right now about leadership.

I see that in my own team and client environment, there is a huge responsibility to be an effective leader. But that makes sense, right?

What most entrepreneurs don’t see is that they have a HUGE responsibility to be an effective leader to their audience (…the audience they often times don’t even realize they have!).

We are SO obsessed with growing our email list from 200 to 2,000. But what about pouring everything you’ve got into those 200 people and being an incredible leader to them? Do you think getting 200 clients isn’t enough?

We are so focused on what is not happening for us. We think no one is reading our blog or looking at our social media posts. Really? How often have YOU read a post you thought was awesome but you didn’t comment or share it? What would happen if you poured everything you’ve got into every blog and social media post knowing people are always watching you?

If you think your audience is 75 people, it’s likely more like 1,500 people. Heck, maybe even more. Don’t just perform for the people you can see – do it for the people you can’t see, too.

It’s what you do when you think no one is looking that makes the difference.

The Demand/Need has never been higher for Great Leaders.

Today, I invite you to step outside of all of the results you think you should be getting (or deserve) and focus back on what really moves the needle… your leadership.

What are some traits of being a GREAT leader?

  • Awareness
  • Turning nothing into something (and enjoying the ride)
  • Empathy
  • Fierce focus and organization
  • Patience (ahem!)
  • Follow-up and follow-through
  • Doing what you say you’re going to do
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Being a beacon of inspiration
  • YOU start the dialogue with people (don’t wait for them to come to you)

When you read that list, which trait have you forgotten? Which trait do you need to strengthen?

If you’re looking for a good place to start…

Remember your WHY.

Why the heck are you doing whatever you’re doing? Why not do something else? (Really consider the alternative for a minute…)

Your WHY forces you to tap into the necessary place of giving, and away from expecting.

I’d LOVE for you to comment below and let me know what keeps you accountable!

Authenticity is important for me. as is gratitude. Also the question “what do I choose to experience NOW.” To see the ever unfolding moment and be seen by my friends and partners as that awareness. I love magic!”
